Ear of corn

24 weeks: Baby is the size of an ear of corn. My baby has caught up with an ear of corn in size and gained about 1/4 pound since last week. (Length: almost a foot.)
I always laugh at the comparison of the baby and a piece of fruit or a vegetable.  Although this week at times I feel like I have an entire piece of corn in my stomach.  In other words, while the baby continues to punch on my lady bits, I can fill it punching at my belly button and other area's above.  This little girl is much more active then my first. My first was typically active at bedtime and then calm the rest of the time. This one is much more active during the day, a little kicking before bed then settles in for bedtime. Trust me I am not complaining.

This week the crib arrived and my daughter wanted it set it up even if we have 15 weeks left. My husband and the little one put it together while I, well sat on my butt and watched.  After it was in place I wondered if this was the best idea for them to share rooms, but it will have to be as we only have a 2 bedroom house. 15 weeks to go or less. In case you are wondering about my math, I will be having a scheduled section during 39 weeks, if I make it that far. Now we just need to finalize the name, decorate her corner of the room and get the rest of the essentials.
Did you hare rooms growing up? Love it or hate it? I shared with my brother until I was 5, I never thought of it as a big deal. I can only hope my kids feel the same way.

What do you think?

As a soon to be mother of two daughters, Dove's recent publicity campaign has got me thinking.

Dove published this with the video: Women are their own worst beauty critics. Only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful. At Dove, we are committed to creating a world where beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety. So, we decided to conduct a compelling social experiment that explores how women view their own beauty in contrast to what others see.

I find it interesting, not going to get into the debate of the people the selected, you an argue that on youtube if you want. :) It is just a reminder that the image we put out on ourselves isn't always what other people see. What we feel inside is not always what other people see either. Learning to love ourselves is probably one of the hardest things to accomplish.

How I talk about myself is going to set an example on how my girls will grow up. I know that I have caught myself many times about to talk bad about myself and my daughter was standing there. It is one lesson I don't want to teach her.

This is not sponsored by Dove, in fact I don't think I use any Dove products it just made me think so I thought I would share.

What do you think? Would your picture be that much different?

I am a runner

I might not be fast.

I might not ever get a sub 2 half.

But I am a runner.

I am filled with fear (I blame pregnancy hormones).

My heart breaks for everyone who experienced Boston this year.

I compare Boston to the Olympics for non elite runners.

I am sad by the death and injury count.

Not going to lie, I am glad I have no race scheduled anytime soon.

Yet, through all of these fears - I still can't wait for my come back to the racing community post baby.

The love and the support I felt through Facebook and various groups yesterday was amazing.

Today I wear a race shirt in honor of Boston.

Friday Five

1. Monday a friend brought over some baby clothing they were no longer needing. By some I mean an insane amount.

2. Tuesday I went through them all and organized them by sizes. I don't think I will need to buy much for this kid for the first few years.  The laundry basket is what is getting washed and put in the dresser and that is only 0-3 months! 2 bags are being shared with a friend who is also having a girl and the rest is being stored for when baby girl needs it.

3. Wednesday was not a good day. During my shower I ended up vomiting up the previous night dinner, I spent 90% of the day in bed to keep from vomiting. I will spare you the photo.

4. Thursday I started to feel better and was happy when I was able to consume a full meal. :)

5. Friday, well its still early but I plan for today to be a good day.

How was your week?

Ouch that hurts

After seeing a few photos of my arms in my recent pregnant state I decided my arms need some work.

22 weeks
I asked some friends on my favorite mommy chat board for ideas. One of them suggested an 8 minute arm video by Tracy Anderson. It looked difficult so I found a 4 minute beginner video. 4 minutes have never felt so long.

First she looks beyond graceful, I look like an turtle flailing upside down. :) Either way my arms hurt. I think just holding my arms up for 4 minutes might have been easier. The goal is to try to get this workout in a couple of times a week and mix in some light dumbbell work on the other days.  I might not be able to run but at least I can do something.

Have you tried this video? Did try it and let me know what you think?

Do you Zozi?

I should start by saying that I am not getting paid to post this. I have just had a lot of good luck using Zozi.com and thought I would share.

Zozi is another version of Groupon, LivingSocial you know the sites. Well, the cool thing about Zozi is if you refer a friend and they buy something you get a $10 credit. This has helped me pay for race's in the past. I have posted my refer link before and here it is again - http://www.zozi.com/z/get_credit/1hv1.

You are probably wondering why I am posting it - well for some reason I keep getting credits. I am sure it is because someone is searching for a Zozi discount code and my blog pops up and the use it and bam $10 added to my account.  I have been waiting for something cool to come up for me to buy with my credit, but nothing has caught my eye just yet.

Although yesterday I noticed they had a Zombie Run 5K that looked like fun, maybe I can volunteer to be a pregnant Zombie at the event.  The do have some train for long distance running events that you can purchase and I have been considering those, although right now some new sunglasses sound good.

If you were of the random people who used my Zozi link (http://www.zozi.com/z/get_credit/1hv1) - Thank you! If you weren't that is ok, but if you want to buy something on there do it through a referral link so you get a discount. :)

If you could buy one thing off Zozi what would it be? Yesterday they had flying squirrel suits with lessons. Now that is an adventure I would never do, but if you are an adrenaline junkie go for it.
