Throwback Thursday

Evie when she was only a few months old in 2007
She was part of my inspiration to get healthy. I need to remember why I started the journey as I struggle now to finish losing the baby weight from number 2. There is no way I can keep up with my 6 year old now when it comes to running. Of course, she likes to sprint and then rest, and sprint some more. So there is hope. My girls are amazing and I WANT to be able to keep up with them as they grow. I am still working on my goals for the rest of the year and will keep them in mind when setting them.
Where do you find inspiration?

It's the little things

This week I humbly started the C25K. First goal to stop using the treadmill handrails. I have an addiction to holding on. I don't need to hold on, but my hands just go there.  Monday and today I kept telling myself to get my hands of the treadmill over and over in my head. I can say that I successfully didn't use them once.

Of course the entire time this is what I was picturing in my head:

I know its the little things right. For Tuesday's workout I got on my spin bike. Sadly, in my 40 minutes of spinning I only burned 250 calories per my heart rate monitor. I need to step it up a bit, in order to help with that I downloaded and interval timer for my phone. This should help me when I crank up the resistance to keep focused.
Next up, goals. I really need to set some goals to get me through the rest of the year. Especially with all the food filled holiday's on the way.

When things don't work out

I hate it when things don't work out as planned. I had this big comeback plan and well I failed.  I am trying to cut myself some slack, but it is really difficult.  Instead of wallowing I am making a new plan.

Today I start the couch to 5K program, yup I said it. Going back to basics. I have a 5K next month and I can see how I am doing then. Of course, this means the half I have planned in December is probably not going to happen. I just don't see myself being ready for that. I am disappointed in myself, but I know that I can get back to where I was. Time to start making plans for 2014.

I can't be sad that my comeback is not how I planned right? I mean look at this adorable face.

Miss Jillian is two months, well a little over now. She had her check up and is growing great weigh in at 11lbs 2oz, up 3lbs from birth. She is a pretty happy baby, but has her moments like everyone.  We recently switched her to her crib and her sleeping has suffered a little but she is slowly getting back to her two long night time stretches. Hopefully soon, it will return to normal.

Have you started 2014 planning yet?

1K Race

My running comeback is no going as planned. My first race, I had to sit because I rolled my ankle the day before.  There was no way I was going to be able to run on it let alone walk a 5K without doing more damage.

Instead I went to cheer on my #1 in her 1K race.  It was a beautiful day for a race.

She ran this one all on her own and finished strong. She told me that she would run a little and then walk.  She loves running and has joined the jogging club at school. They meet twice a week and run for 30 minutes.

As for me, I am not sure when I will be running again. Soon I hope, the pain still lingers so I have been trying to get on the spin bike, when I can.  I am supposed to participate in a 5K this weekend but right now I am not sure if that will happen. If I do, it will be slow. I really hate missing out on race especially, when I already paid for it.
