23 days - the countdown continues

I am officially scheduled for my c-section on August 2nd.  The reason for having a repeat c-section this time around is the same as the first time. My hips are pinned together and the orthopedic surgeon who repaired my broken pelvis advised that this is the safest way for me to give birth. For me its a non issue, I was happy after my car accident in 1996 that I would be able to have children when I was ready. Yet, there are times when I feel that I have to explain myself to society, which is just crazy.  But that is the facts of life and having a baby.

My number one advise to all new mother's is - be confident in your choices, because in someone's eyes you will always be wrong. But if you are confident and are doing what is best for your family you can never be wrong. :)

I am getting huge. This was taken at 35.5 weeks-ish, I will be 36 weeks tomorrow.  I can't believe that I in a little over 3 weeks I will be holding our baby girl. Honestly, I am looking forward to getting ride of this extra weight gained. I know its good, its for the baby, but I don't have to like it. I am not one of the lucky ones who can keep their weight low - at last check I was up 37lbs. I am afraid of what this weeks appointment will be since I spent the week of the 4th of July enjoying foods, I normally pass up.

There you have it!  I am officially on maternity  leave.  Enjoying some time with kiddo #1 as she experiences her first summer vacation ever.  She started it out with a bang with getting sick, so the past few days have just been relaxing and reading. Not a bad way to start summer vacation.

I hope everyone is well, and I can't wait to get back on the running track -  I will for sure be using this blog to log all the ugly details of my first real workouts post baby.

  1. So exciting Jen! Yes I had to deal with certain people telling me I was endangering my child's life because I was giving birth naturally with a midwife instead of a hospital. We can't please everyone, we just have to do what's best for us:) Can't wait to hear all about it!

  3. Ignore those that think they know better than a doctor and do what is best for you! People made me so mad during and after my pregnancy when they tried to tell me what I should have done that was safer/better/right. When that baby girl comes, nothing else will matter!

  4. No matter what there is always some one who thinks they know more on any given subject. Maybe that's why some one invented ear plugs? ;-)
