I am sick

I woke up at 2AM Monday morning with a migraine.  I suffered for a few hours before I woke up my husband to get me some Tylenol. What sucks about being pregnant and getting a migraine is Tyleonal is the  strongest thing you can take.  Once migraine starts it just gets worse without the proper drugs, on top of everything overnight I developed that horrific head and chest cold that is combined with the migraine shut me down.

Monday, I worked from home in order to but it was a rough day. At least if I put my head down on my desk I didn't have to worry about anyone getting on my case. :)  Late in the day I was still feeling terrible, so we went to get my blood pressure and it was 150/78 a lot higher then it should be. At that point I called my OB just to check in. I knew there wasn't much she could do but I was concerned since I was pre-e at the end of my last pregnancy.  The explained that the high blood pressure was probably due to the pain I from the migraine.  Monday, night I tried to get some sleep but it was hopeless. How can  you be so exhausted and yet not sleep?

I woke up Tuesday and knew that there was no way I could work, even with the ability to work from home. Tuesday, was spent in bed grateful for the rest. However, I still could not sleep. This meant I watched a lot of shows on the iPad.  I will say that Justin Timberlake should host SNL more often. I cracked up at most of his skits!  This bad youtube version of his Vegan singing was especially funny.

Anyone have this dang chest/head cold crap, all I want to do is take a bunch of NyQuil and go to bed, but that is a big no no being pregnant. I did talk to my regular doctor today and she said it will take about 7-10 days until I feel better. Booo hooo, I am seriously not happy about that as this will mean I need to miss my annual St. Patrick's Day run this weekend.

  1. Doesn't sound like running this weekend would be in your best interest. We have been lucky so far and missed out on the chest cold but I KNOW A LOT who have suffered....no fun! Get better!!

  6. Hi there! This is my first time visiting your blog.
I know exactly how you feel! I'm 28 weeks along and got a head cold a week ago. I could not sleep at all! I wanted Nyquil so badly! On the positive side, for the first part of the week, I felt energized and my runs were pretty good :)
