You missed me

Well according to dailymile you did! :) Thanks dailymile for reminding me that my last workout was a week ago. I needed to take some time off to recovery and regroup overall after the 3 day walk.

Last night I had a hot date with my treadmill. Its been a while and I missed it. I started week 1 day 1 of the couch to 5K program. My goal is to get back to running after months of walk training and maybe get a little faster. My stats last night don't reflect speed, but they give me a start. I used the app on my phone so I would watch TV without having to calculate time in my head. I completed each run at 5mph on the treadmill. Not fast, but it felt good. It felt comfortable and I think with each week I will increase the speed slowly. If I train smart over the next couple of months I think I can have a PR with little trouble in February.

I have a rough plan worked out for the rest of the week:
Tue/Thur - Hot Yoga
Wed/Sat - Run
Fri/Sun - Spin

  1. Aren't those gadgets great?! They really help you and motivate you. Good for you for starting to run again.

  2. Nope...after our Turkey Trot we don't have any thing until the Get Lucky around St. Patrick's Day! Time to get stronger ...eat better...and hopefully the speed will come.

  3. I love my little running apps since they are always there to keep me on track... but I definitely have those weeks where I miss more workouts than others! Your workout plan for the week looks awesome though - I have been considering adding a spin class to my routine for a little while now!

  4. I'm sure the speed will come back in no time! I've still got a few races left before the year is over: a 5K, marathon, and a surprise race.

  5. Good to hear you're up and running! No worries on pace. No races for me although I'm entertaining the rotary Santa 5k which is done in full Santa suit.
