Weekly Recap

I was on a roll last week and I felt like I was going to have an epic walking weekend, until my knee said otherwise. Let me back up a bit.

Monday was a rest day
Tuesday was 65 minutes of Hot Yoga
Wednesday was 5.15 of treadmill love
Thursday more sweat loving Hot Yoga
Friday I was had a 6.5 mile date with my treadmill

Then Saturday happened. We were super busy and the only time I was going to fit in my walk was in the evening. Which meant miles on my treadmill. Don't worry I love my treadmill. I started walking around 6:15PM with the plan to complete 18 miles, but the dream ended at 10.5. My right knee started bothering me around 5 miles. I stopped and stretched and kept going. By 8 I wanted to give up, but I pushed through to 10 and did a .5 cool down. I then iced my knee and sat on the couch bummed out. Sunday was supposed to be 15 miles, but I decided to rest. I need my knee to hold up to 60 miles in 25 days.  The only good thing that came out of this walk is I got to test out one of my outfits.  The shirt arrived in the mail last week and I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to rub me in the wrong places.

I have been rotating my shoes through out my training (wearing Asics 2160 on this walk) so I don't think it is that, but I am wondering if I should just stick to one pair the rest of the training cycle. They recommend bringing two pairs in case one pair gets wet - I have been have just been alternating shoes at my walks. I do know that this week I am going to repeat last weeks training schedule and try to get the new distance PR of 18 miles.

Monday - 5 miles
Tuesday - Hot Yoga
Wednesday - 6 miles
Thursday - Hot Yoga
Friday - Rest (unless I can figure out how to get to a Yoga Class)
Saturday - 18 miles
Sunday -12 Miles + a 5K for a total of 15 miles

  2. lots of raking (sore back now) and too much eating (stuffed tummy now) Good thing for going home and Mondays to start again. ;-)
