Tuesday - 3.8 mile walk followed by arm work and abs
Wednesday - 40 minute spin
Thursday - the day I need to make a rest day - 5 mile walk/run. Walked 2 miles/ran 2 miles/walked 1 mile.
Today I plan to rest as I just don't know if I can fit it in. We have a very busy day - I know, we all have busy days. Since I am already awake my only choice is to stay up late and right now I am exhausted. I do have to go home from work to wait for the cable guy, maybe I can squeeze it in then. Time will only tell.
I am having a bit of a issue, I call this a good problem though. I have so much I want to do - that I can't focus down on just one thing. I am really bad and training for multiple things at one time. I don't know how people train for Tri's I would get overwhelmed. Here is my issue: I only like to run 3-4x a week, this would include walking long distance, as well. On other days I like to Spin, do weights and Hot Yoga, which I haven't done in forever.
I have the following events on my plate for the rest of summer and fall:
- 5K in August (maybe)
- 9.9 Iron Girl 5K
- 9.22 Seattle Brain Cancer Walk
- 9.30 Issaquah Salmon Days 10K
- 10.20 Puget Sound Heart Walk
- 10.27 Snohomish River Run - or - 10.28 RnR LA
- 11.16-18 3-Day 60 Mi Walk San Diego
- 11.25 Amica Seattle Half
My second issue - I really want to get back into Hot Yoga but the monthly membership is as much as my gym membership. Do I cancel my gym membership and switch to Hot Yoga? I only use the gym for Spin class and occasionally going to the pool with my daughter. I need to make my mind up before the 20th when my membership renews.
How do you nail down your focus when you have a bunch of events scheduled? Pick one to focus on training for and the rest are extra?

Three fundraising events going on right now

Wow, that's a lot of events. I say do them, but not for time. Since you love the events so much, it's okay to keep them on your schedule, just not in a competitive capacity. Not sure about the Hot Yoga issue. If you had to choose, which one brings you the most satisfaction? You cold always do hot yoga for a few months and then switch back to the gym.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot coming up for you. I would say focus on which one is most important to you or which one you are most worried about. I can't imagine doing hot yoga right now since it's so hot outside so I don't know what to say about that one other than maybe checking to see if they will cut you a deal for 3 months or look for deals at other hot yoga locations (if you have any).
ReplyDeletewhew, your summer and fall plate of races is FULL...i'm feeling like a slacker now, thanks! Ha! kidding, but I do need to find me some races! ASAP!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Hot Yoga. I have done it a couple times with my sister. I dont focus, I usually try to cram everything in and overwhelm myself. LOL..
