Weekend Update

You might remember my plan for last week started the first week of training for the SGK 3-day walk, did I mention it is 60 miles over 3 days. I have heard that it might falls short, but still its like 3 days in a row of half marathons, plus a little extra. I want to make sure that I am ready to physically do this and not kill my body.  Here is a review of last weeks training plan and what actually happened:

Monday: Spin Class
Tuesday: 3.25mi run
Wednesday: Spin Class - this workout was hard and I felt like a noobie.
Thursday:  Rest Day
Friday: 4 mi - went to the gym in a sucky mood, left feeling worse. I hate when a workout doesn't give me the pick me up I need.

Friday this arrived in the mail for me. I now have no excuse for not getting my strength training in. It's not like I don't have a bunch of other DVDs, but I wanted something new. The program is a 90 day program and I am going to see if I can make it through all 90 days. The plan is a 5 day a week workout plan with 2 rest days built in. My goal is to add this on as bonus workouts without sacrificing my running or spinning class. Hopefully, I can figure out a good way to fit it all in.

Saturday: 4.17 mi walk - 1.17 outside with my daughter until we had a bathroom emergency. Once we were home I got on the treadmill for 3 miles at 4mph.

Sunday: With the help of my husband and I my daughter (she was the photographer), I completed the Fit test that was recommended for the ChaLean program. The test  included push-ups, crunches, squats, forearm plank, overhead shoulder press, bicep curls and a sit and reach test. The test was a good to get an assessment of where I am starting. I had my husband go through it with me to help keep me honest and make sure I was using proper form.  After the fit test, I hopped on the treadmill for my 8 mile run. I was originally supposed to run outside with a friend but she recently hurt her hamstring and is unable to run. With the Seattle RnR two weeks away we are hoping she can recover enough to walk the event, so for now she is resting it. That means I wussed out on running outside alone and watched Drop Dead Diva on Netflix while I ran.

How was your weekend?
