TripleT

1. Did you hear that yesterday was National Running Day or something like that. If your Facebook feed was like mine, you heard it about one million times (said in my best Austin Powers one million dollars voice). Did I run yesterday? Nope, I had Spin on my schedule and got my booty there on time. I hated every minute of it. I normally LOVE spin, but yesterday it was hard. Like, first timer hard! I was glad when it was over and thankful I was done for the day. In honor of running day, I did wear my Zenash bases layer pants under a dress to work. That has to count for something right.

2. I am reading Train Like a Mother right now on my Nook. Which is interesting because in March of  2011 I wrote an open letter to publishers on my blog to add more fitness/running books to digital media. Last March, it was near impossible to find books in the digital form.  This year the digital book is taking over. Although, I still love reading paperbacks. I just finished the chapter on preparing for a Marathon and by that I mean I skipped over it. Right now, I have no desire to ever run a marathon (I once said that about a RnR race), so I don't think I  need to read about it. I can't really give you a full review of the book as I am only about halfway done, but I am thankful for the digital copy.
3. At the grocery store last night I picked up some chocolate milk. I figure I love drinking it when they hand it out after I race I could use it for recover. As I was reaching for the stuff with added protein I noticed that Dairygold has a Chocolate Peanut Butter Milk. Of course, I had to grab one. I didn't plan on running last night, but I thought about it a lot. I wanted an excuse to try out the milk. I finally gave into temptation and opened the bottle. I made sure to pour some in a glass so not to drink the whole thing at one time. A bottle is 2 servings at 180 calories each.  It was yummy, I wish the PB taste was a little stronger, but I would still try it again.  This might be the motivation I need to bust my but a little more on my runs.  Oh and if you are Lactose intolerant, this stuff is lactose free.

Did you run yesterday, do you like reading running books? Do you like Chocolate milk?

  1. Chocolate peanut butter milk - OMG!!!! Could you add ice and make it a smoothie with a little more peanut butter? Love chocolate milk.

I've read about a dozen running books. I love learning something new that I can use in my training/racing.

    Happy "pre" Friday!

  5. I ran 1 mile yesterday after my swim to keep the streak alive! I love running books but I am careful which ones I get on my kindle - sometimes the formatting is wonky. I'm reading an Ironman book right now and it's making me excited for my first tri next month! I'm a chocolate milk fan, but I don't drink it for recovery.

    1. I have had a few problems with the formatting on a couple. But overall I really like the ability to read them this way. Good luck on your first tri!
