TripleT

1.  I am in need of a hydration belt or CamelBak type backpack for the 3-day walk. I currently have a Nathan handheld, but I don't want to carry that the entire time.   Do you use either? Having any recommendations? I need it to have a pouch for carrying a few small things, as well as, water for the walk. Oh and comfortable is a nice feature also.

2.  A big shout out to all who have donated to my Fundraising efforts. I am a member of Team Pink Flamingo's and I am currently $5 away from my April fundraising goal. I also received my first corporate sponsorship from our wonderful veterinarian office Aerowood Animal Hospital. Aerowood has been great to us and our pets over the years, if you are in the neighborhood and need I vet I highly recommend them. I am extremely grateful for all donations big and small.

3.  My kid said we looked 'awesomer' if we wore our hats sideways, what do you think?

What have you done lately that makes you awesomer?

  2. I use an Amphipod water belt. I LOVE it. You have to be sure to tighten the caps down good. And just be sure you get the correct size. That was probably the hardest part for me. But the bottles snap in and out on my back really easily and don't fall out ever. I feel zero bounce ever. Truly love it. Plus you can get larger size snap in bottles if you want to carry less bottles and or more water. I also love that I can add or take away as many bottles as I like depending on my needs that day. Good luck!

  3. I would use a Camelbak. My kids both have one for our hikes and they love them. Good idea asking your vet for sponsorship. I should do that the next time I fundraise. Unfortunately, we have spent way too much money there in the past 10 or so years.

    1. I saw some at Costco that I was thinking about getting. I figure I have time to try different options out.

  4. Woohoo!!!!!! Almost to the April goal! You'll get there. Someone out there MUST give you $5 in order to bump it up. That's an order. ;)

I run with a belt, but I think for such a long walk...a CB might be better. Same theory for hiking, in my book. I don't have one, but need to invest in one.

  5. That's a cute picture. I love my fuel belts but for that long I'd use a Camelbak I think.

  8. What worked best for me during the 3-Day walk was a lghtweight backpack. I had an Under Armour bag that has the adjustable strings and it had an extra zipper pocket. I could carry my bottle (their course support is outstanding - they will refill your bottle at each stop with water or Nuun). I loved the pack becuase i carried extra socks and my phone. Plus, you can stash extra snacks in there too. Don't forget to take some money too if you want to buy extra buttons, etc.
