2for1 Tuesday

Growing up there was a local movie thether that our parents would drop us off at on a Friday night. I lived in a small town and most of the middle schoolers would go there to hang out. The started two for the price of one Tuesdays to bring in more customers over the years. I looked up their website recently and the place still looks the same as it did when I was in middle school in the late 80's.  If you want a deal on the Hunger Games you can go today 2for1 and it will cost you $7. Now that is a deal if you are willing to drive to the small town of Arlington, Washington.  Don't be thinking D.C. now, I am talking about Washington State. Which by they way telling people you lived in Arlington - no matter where you were in the world, most people would ask me D.C.? I quickly learned to say that I was from Seattle.

Souce

This morning I woke up before the sun was up. I dreaded every freaking minute of my 4 mile run. I actually woke up to run before work because I plan on attending a Blood Drive at work today. If you have given blood before you know that there is no strenous activty for 12 hours after giving blood. If I wanted to get my workout in I had to wake up early. Have I mentioned before how much I hate getting up early to run. I am pretty sure I have.

Did you grow up in a small town or a large town?

  1. Small town girl and disliked a lot of it....too many people knowing what every one is doing makes for a lot of excess talk around town...so not into that!

GIRL....have I mentioned I LOVE morning work outs..pretty sure I HAVE...I too ran this morning...it was beautiful and I LOVED every minute of it. I also love how people just KNOW if they are a morning or evening person. I always find that interesting for some reason....kind of like the shape of a person's body being an apple or a pear...just funny.

    Have a great day!

    1. The only time I like to run in the morning is when the sun is just coming up and I don't have to worry about getting home to get to work. The roads are quite and everything is peaceful.

  2. We have a theatre like that in our town too and I just recently won a full year's unlimited movie pass for me and a guest. Needless to say, I've been spending more time there lately! Hunger Games last week!

  3. I grew up a big city girl in a teeny little town..hence why I escaped to the city as soon as I was out of high school...only to end up building my house in a town even smaller than the one I grew up in! Of course - that little town is spitting distance from the big city.

I wish I could workout in the morning...it is just too rushed in our house for that right now (getting up at 5am only gives me time to get myself and the girls ready to leave at 6:30)...so until we move back to the city and shorten our commute - evening workouts get to be my norm and I HATE them!!!!

  6. I always just say Seattle too since most people haven't heard of where I live anyways. I hate it when people think DC when I say Washington. Way to get your run in early and thank you for giving blood:)

  7. S.M.A.L.L.!!!!!

Runs aren't suppose to worry you - you've got this! I'm not a morning runner though either - I think I would rather run at midnight over 6:00 a.m.

  8. You're not a morning runner but I think it's great you did it because it was your only moment to get your run in. I love working out in the morning, I wouldn't want it any other way anymore.

I grew up in a small village. As a child I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now because we always had to go to another town to do something. I moved to a bigger village and although I love living here, lately I'm thinking a lot about going "home". Because nowadays I do appreciate the beauty of where I grew up.

  9. Small town girl here...everyone knows everyone and everyone's business..but I loved it! We then moved to L.A. and no one knew anyone...it was too big, too smoggy, and too far away from the beauty of Oregon...good that you got your run in , too bad it had to be so darn early...I don't like early mornings either.
