Two Thousand Eleven

Are you a Twenty Twelve kind of person or a Two Thousand Twelve person. I can't commit but for the most part I say Two Thousand Twelve versus Twenty Twelve. The last month of 2011 was decent to me, even if I was banned from running most of the month.

December Goals:
  • Spin Class 2x a week - Done! Plus now we have a Spin bike at home to get in the extra workouts for me, and an option for my husband as he rehabs his knee.
  • Lose a few more lbs...lets go for 6lbs   - Started December at 202. Finished December the same, well as of 12/30 I was the same. As of tomorrow I am taking all new measurements and weights.
  • Start the push up challenge again, my goal is to do 50 push ups by the end of the month - I started and I think I completed 2 weeks. I just don't have it in me to do it this month.  I did do 50 push ups last night, just in 3 sets instead of all at once.
  • Create a training plan for half #3 - Done, it included running 3-4 days a week, Spin, Yoga and cross training. I should be busy in the New Year. I figured everyone is pushing hard I might as well join the fresh blood of that January Joiners at the gym and use them for motivation.
The numbers:

  • Miles Ran – 6.5 miles  - better then nothing
  • Miles Rode (Spin Class) –  122 miles , with 7 Spin workouts completed in my garage where I have no computer to track distance.
  • Pounds lost –  0 - I maintained though so that's a bonus
January Goals:
  • Find and run a 5K
  • Run all of my Sunday long runs outside (this is big for me, I actual like running on my treadmill)
  • Continue with the Primal 21 Day Plan
  • Spin 2x a week
  • Yoga 1x a week
  • Weight Loss Goal - 5lbs
Day 5 of 21 looks like this:
  • Diet - Modern Foraging - Dine out and see how well you can stay primal. Love this challenge since its a Friday night and we usually eat out on Fridays.
  • Exercise - Abbreviated PEM Workout - 1-2 sets of max reps push ups, squats, pull ups and planks
  • Lifestyle - Don't go longer then 30 minutes without moving around.  This should be interesting to try to implement.
At the end of the year I am suprised that I am still on this journey and look forward to what 2012 brings me. Don't forget to Friday Blog Hop and bring on the New Year!

  1. I'm a two thousand twelve person. And I love it that you are scheduling races for the year. I have races in mind from January to October! I need to commit to more cross training in my next training cycle though.

  2. I'm primarily a twenty twelve person but not exclusively (guess I can't commit either - ha).

Great job maintaining your weight DURING the multi-week eat fest of the holidays AND without having running to help. I wish I could say I gained nothing - sigh, back on the wagon i go!

I'm interested in your monthly goals - perhaps I should just email you, but maybe this will make for a future post topic (or maybe you already covered it and I just missed it- sorry if that's the case). Do you make yearly goals and then your monthly goals to help you reach your annual goals or do you just stick with making monthly goals that help push you in the ultimate direction you want to go? I'm curious as I have been thinking about 2012 A LOT for the last few months and want to be as successful as possible with my goals. Just curious!

    Happy New Year!

  3. I think that I am a Twenty Twelve person, but not all the time. I say Two Thousand Eleven, so maybe I will say Two Thousand Twelve. Now I am confusing myself! I love your goals! I need to work on a list of my own!

  4. I like twenty twelve, but don't say it much.

All long runs outside in JANUARY! Yikes, since I got drenched on my 5 miler yesterday, may I suggest lots of Body Glide and a good raincoat?

    Happy New Year!

  5. Great job getting in all those spinning miles, and maintaining your weight! I love that you're doing monthly goals instead of yearly... what a great way to review and re-evaluate more often. Visiting from fitness fri!

  8. I'm a two thousand twelve person. I wonder if before the end of the year I'll be a twenty twelve because it's slightly shorter?

Great job on your Dec goals. I look forward to seeing how well you accomplish your Jan goals.

Have to ask. What is the 21-day primal diet plan? Off to google :)
