Friday fun

Thursday night. The workout. 6 mile. In the garage. Same thing. Different day.

I didn't wait to long to start as I knew it would take me over an hour to complete. I started shortly after 8PM and had a rough start between burping up the veggies I ate at dinner and having to stop at from being light headed at 2.5 miles it was a rough run. I stuck to a 5/1 run/walk ration the first 3 miles the run was at 12:30 pace and was a struggle to hold, the second 3 miles were at 12:00 pace and felt easy. I hate that it takes my body so long to warm up because as I struggle the self doubt kicks in and I start to question why I am running. something I need to improve on soon if I am going to make it through this half. As I was wiping this run off my white board I noticed I only have 9 more runs until my half. I don't feel ready at all.

Before I went down my daughter wanted to take a few photos. This is what happens when your 4 year old takes your photo. Instead of backing up she has me squat down.

Then she wants to get in on the action and she shows me her awesome tattoo and guns!

Then we hit a high level of cuteness that almost keeps me from working out and going to read her stories and snuggle in bed with her.

And lastly all the silliness comes out and we take about 100 photos with our tongues out and acting like a gorilla pounding our chest.  That is when I realized the cuteness above was just her distraction technique to keep me around a little longer.

This morning I decided to do a brick workout. Is that what the cool kids are calling it these days. Buuuttttttttt.........then my arm spasmed and hit the snooze button way to many times and I barley made it to Spin class.  So I didn't get my 3 mile easy run in before spin, no brick workout today. The Friday instructor "quote lady" didn't annoy me as much today. Maybe I was just to tired to listen or maybe it was the fact that she told us up front she stacked the class with hills at the request of someone. It was a tough ride but I really enjoyed it this morning.  When I got home this is what the sky looked like outside my house.  Not sure if my cell phone does it justice but it was stunning. Today will be a good day.

What's up next for me? I have a 3 mile easy run to get in today, I am thinking lunch time run. Saturday is a rest day or maybe I will sneak to spin class. Sunday is 11 miler, my last 11 miler sucked because of my hip I have been really working on stretching it so I hope Sunday's does much better.

  3. off day for me today...tomorrow I am going to do weights and hopefully get in a run in the man says it should hit 60 so I think I will be loving it!!

  6. crazy, thought i already followed you! got it right 2nd time around. I think its adorable your daughter makes you squat- at least she recognizes that you did't fit into the frame.

  8. Ug. The first 2 miles are always the worst for me no matter what! It does take a while to warm up...sometimes longer than others! But once I get going, I get to a place where I almost (*Almost*) don't want to stop! I wish that feeling lasted forever.

  9. Am I the only one who doesn't know what a brick workout is? Fun photos :)

    It takes me forever to warm up! But, in the end, I finish stronger than my husband and friend who almost always go out too fast.
