Sicko Thursday

Last night before I went to bed I started to get a sore throat, you know the one that feels like you are swallowing razor blades. I slept like crap because of it and now feel like I am part of the walking dead! I am hoping with enough fluids and medication I will feel better tonight. Clearly my body was telling me something the other night when I feel asleep instead of running.  I am glad I can easily adjust my cross training schedule so that I can fit all of my runs in. I really enjoy my cross training classes I am taking, but right now they are not a priority. Getting my mileage in is my number one goal and increasing my endurance base overall.

In other news last night I completed my 4 mile run on the treadmill at a 2% incline. I forgot to adjust it when I started and I kept thinking man this feels strange, once I made the adjustment the run went so much smoother.  During last night run I tried out my first Running Skirt. For those out there who have the athletic style running skirt, how do you keep the shorts from riding up? I feel like I got the right size, I had read online that you should go a size down when you order so that is what I did. All suggestions are welcome. I really like the running skirt for my treadmill workouts as I am not as hot as if I am wearing capris.

It is not an official weekly weigh in day but I stepped on the scale this morning and I am down 2lbs from last week. I think the Clean Eating attempt has really helped me get the scale moving, the goal now will be how I can work on eating more 'clean' on the weekend.  I don't know about you guys but the weekends are always difficult for me to stay on track.

  1. Great job on the 2 pounds! I hope you feel better. Lots of rest and fluids. (Look at me pretending I'm a doctor :)

  2. I'm sick too! It sucks!! Never liked the skirts for that reason also. I find I got the chub rub to easily!

Weekend eating...its hard. I try my best and then go to the second best resort which is "everything in moderation".

  3. I tried running in a skirt once ... never again. I have HORRIBLE thigh rub unless I wear something with 7.5"+ inseam.

And I'll second the "everything in moderation" ... I can't keep myself on a regular diet while I'm living at home so I just always make sure I'm only eating when I'm hungry, and TRY to make it as healthy as possible, with the occasional treat, of course.
