Friday Eve

It might be Friday Eve, but I still have my three things to share with you on Thursday.

  1. I have started thinking about Thursday as really Friday Eve! If I can push through today then tomorrow will be Friday!  Yesterday  I ordered two new pairs of compression socks because since I started training again I have been wearing a black pair of RunLove Compression socks.  They are wonderful, my legs have been feeling great and I have not gotten a black toe nail yet.  Since I only had one pair I decide that I need to invest in a few more pairs to get me through this training cycle.  I can't wait to wear them on longer runs. I also think that they will be helpful as the weather starts to cool in helping to keep my legs warm as I like to run in capris.
  2. Last night I made the best soup ever and I can't wait to eat the leftovers. I took a simple Potato Cheddar Soup that and pumped it up with veggies - adding cabbage, fennel, broccoli, onion and celery. I loved that it gets me my extra veggies and ands just a little change in the flavor of the soup. My favorite part of making soup is eating it over he next few days as the flavors really start to blend together.
  3. I have been hitting the treadmill a lot lately. By the time I can run its dark out and I don't like running in the dark. I have a white board next to my treadmill so I decided to write my goal each run on the board. This helps to keep it fresh in my mind when I am running. I added a few comments to the board also for motivation. Sayings like Run, Run, and then RUN some more, Get your hands of the treadmill and you are stronger then you think - go!  This weekend I plan to take my medals and hang next to the whiteboard so that I have a constant reminder as to why I am doing this, extra motivation to push myself harder.
Do you have a favorite brand of compression socks?

What about a hearty and healthy soup, whats your favorite?

  1. I'm a big fan of lean chilis. Super filling, lots of beans, as many veggies as I can throw in. I'm a big meat eater, though.

  2. I only have Asics compression socks and some hospital grade ones. I love them both, although my Asics ones are a lot cuter than the hospital grade ones!

  3. I read Christy's comment - I didn't know Asics made compression socks - cool!!! Will be looking them up in a sec! I like my Zensah - but then again, I've never tried anything else (I have sleeves not socks).

I like Beef Stew, but I pump up the veggies in that too (like you did with your potato soup - yum! soup!)
