Fake Runner

From the August Runner's World -  "I often hear people say, 'I'm not a real runner.' We are all runners, some just run faster than others, that's all. I have never met a fake runner." - Bart Yasso

Sometimes I feel like a runner, sometimes I don't hence the blog title that I created. I often feel like a fake even after I have a good run. I feel like I am missing the drive, that desire, that spunk that you see in other runners.
What I really want is this feeling when I run.

How can we bottle up almost 4 year old joy and love for running! I could make millions if could find the sell a child's joy and excitement.  Run Happy!

  1. Great picture! I love her energy and enthusiasm. Wish we could bottle and it sell it - that's what my 5-year-old looks like, too!

I think you're a real runner all the way, fwiw. :)

  2. I love it when I have that feeling when I am running. I love that picture!

  3. I do not think the best runner has that kind of smile on there face when they run.

Everyone has a bad day at times. I think you are a runner because you are doing it. Keep rocking it!

Everybody is different and everybody feels different when they run. Some enjoy the thought that they will be running, some enjoy the run itself and some enjoy the feeling afterwards. It depends on how I feel which runner is me.

Don't ever say you're a fake runner because you are absolutely not.

  5. I really needed to hear Yasso's quote today and see that picture!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. I feel that everyone feels they are not a runner sometimes...I'm not feeling like too much of one this week..that's for sure! But I think there are the other times that count a little bit more. The times when you do feel like a spunky four year old...maybe not as cute...but spunky.
